Like many other IT professionals, I am an avid gamer. I first and foremost like to play “retro games”.
I grew up with the likes of the Super Nintendo. Super Mario, Donkey Kong, The Legend of Zelda, you name it. Years later, Nintendo still has a special place in my heart.
By far my favourite genre, however, are J-RPGs, especially those from the Super Nintendo and Playstation 1 era. The Final Fantasy and Suikoden series in particular have had a big impact on me. Final Fantasy VI and Suikoden II are among my all-time favourite games.
Although I am mainly a “console gamer” nowadays, I can also thoroughly enjoy a game of Civilization VI on the PC. I like to play other, similar strategy games as well.

From 1999 to 2012 I have been in charge of a relatively large, international gaming clan on the game Jazz Jackrabbit 2 for PC. This clan, known as the Cracco Clan, has achieved many successes in its long existence. As an example, we became world champions in both 2005 and 2011.
During the period that the clan was active, my teammates and I have organized well over 70 “in real life” meetings and holidays for members of the clan from countries all over the world. These gatherings were certainly just as entertaining (if not more) as only the gaming itself.
